Governor Larry Hogan and State Superintendent of Schools Karen Salmon announced today, March 25, that they are extending the closure of all Maryland public schools until April 24, 2020. All Montgomery County Public Schools buildings will be closed during this time.

In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, all MCPL branches and book drops will remain closed through April 24, 2020, in alignment with Montgomery County Public Schools. All programs, classes, activities and rentals scheduled during the closure are canceled.

Good morning Roy. We must not hurry to reopen schools if we are going to beat this thing. Wise move! Enjoy your day!

Here too Roy. I hope you are staying safe. It wont be long for the spring flowers and being able to see your great photos. I had 2 flowers pop up and bloom in a sheltered be on the sunny side, and then we got snow, but after today it should all be melted again.

Our schools and library are closed as well. With my son, Timmothy, being a Senior it leaves a lot of activity up in the air and with my wife being a school employee her job is day to day Roy Kelley . I hope this ends soon.

That is probably a wise thing to do and I think the break we are getting is going to provide a lot of benefits.

Roy Kelley, my daughter is a teacher at the Central Florida Christian Academy here in an  Orlando community.  The entire school was closed a couple weeks ago and all the teachers now set up online and remote learning/graphic board  teaching from home.  Roy I saw all the work and hours my daughter had to put into this in order to have it function and be a positive learning experience for her students.  She did an awesome job.

My grandchildren have been out of school for almost 3 full weeks.
We have been hit very hard in one county. One nursing facility was where it all began and has facilitated one hundred deaths of our states one hundred and thirty two deaths...

Happy Thursday and many positive thoughts to you and Delores Roy Kelley

Roy, our schools could be closed to the end of the school year, as well as libraries.  All sad.

Our schools and libraries are closed here as well.  There is an elementary school around the corner from my home.  I have been accustomed to having increased traffic flow at drop off and pick up times of the day.  The streets are strangely quiet lately.
