Most insurance plans, including Medicare, cover the costs of regular visits with your dermatologist. If you live in Montgomery County, Maryland, I recommend Dr. Stephen J. Krivda at Montgomery Dermatology Associates. Click on the link to visit their website.

During a recent visit, Dr. Krivda did a biopsy on a spot on my back that I had not noticed. The test result was that it was a basal cell carcinoma. I went back to the office to have it removed. My next regular every three months appointment is in June.

Basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer that most often develops on areas of skin exposed to the sun.

Good morning, Roy Kelley there's no need to take a chance on missing something you may have on your skin that is not visible to you or recongizable to you as needing to be biopsied....I visit every 6 months....everyone who has exposure to the sun should add a dermatologist to their list of Dr.s...

At the beginning of this year, I had vowed to take care of a number of minor dental and health issues that I had been quick to overlook last year.  I managed to see the dentist, and get a new crown, as well as other treatments.  I had eye surgery because of a significant cataract, last month.  Seeing a dermatologist is another thing on my agenda.  However, California is now in ORDERED self-isolation. Doctor and dental appointments (other than emergency) are pretty much being rescheduled.  These are crazy times we are dwelling in.
