I wonder how many vacate office buildings are out there that can be use and the government can kick in some money, less expenses then trying to put up new ones.

Six hospitals in Montgomery County are erecting triage tents outside their facilities as they brace for an expected influx of new coronavirus cases.

The number of confirmed cases in the affluent suburb of 1.1 million climbed to 31 on Wednesday. And county health officials say the worst is yet to come.

In an effort to flatten the curve, county first responders and the National Guard are pitching tents outside:

  • Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring;
  • Suburban Hospital in Bethesda;
  • Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville;
  • Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring;
  • Holy Cross Hospital in Germantown; and
  • Medstar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney

Our hospitals have done the same, Roy.  Over 100 Public Health nurses arebeing hired. Two of our emergency room physicians have contracted Covid-19.

Today most of our major grocery stores have instituted an hour for Seniors to shop before opening to the general public. People all over the city are helping, sharing, being kind and considerate. It's a similar response that I saw after 9-11.

Our shelter-in-place mandate is the right approach, and our best chance at flattening the curve.

Wishing you and Dolores continued good health.

It's so odd to look out my window and see everyone's cars still parked in the driveway.  No one has gone to work.  The streets are abnormally quiet.  Usually, there is traffic in the morning and afternoon when the children at the elementary school around the corner are dropped off and picked up.  Schools are closed, gyms are closed, etc.  Even a major shopping center closed this morning.

Roy Kelley - I pray you won't have to be going to any hospital. Although it is good to know.

Be safe and stay strong!

Roy, we are in challenging times, with everything we knew has changed.   Hope our local hospitals are ready.  Stay Healthy!

I hope that the hospitals in your area will be able to provide medical care to all those that are in need.
