Report Census Scams

The U.S. Census Bureau anticipates that a lot of false or misleading information might swirl around the digital world as Census Day draws near, so it established a Trust & Safety Team to ensure that the public gets the real story. Visit a dedicated webpage here, and if you see or hear any messaging that seems suspicious to you, report it to 800-923-8282 or rumors@census.gov. It is imperative that we all be counted. It's important. It's easy. It's safe.

That i a great reminder Roy, i have heard of them online but have not seen any yet. Once the census takers hit the ground, there may be a pick up in fraud.

Hi Roy,  Thanks for the heads up on Census Scammers - it is difficult to spot them at times, and it seems they will use any means possible to get others information.

Hi Roy - while census scams seems a bit unbelievable, scams are evident in so many parts of life these days.  It's like a return to the Wild Wild West of yesteryear with snakeoil sales and shoot-outs at O K Corral updated for the 21st century.

The scammers always seem to be one or two steps ahead of us with their shenanigans.  It's great that you are putting the word out!
