Shop Local on Small Business Saturday, November 30, 2019

Shop Local on Small Business Saturday, November 30, 2019

With an official proclamation at a recent meeting, the Mayor and City Council encourage you to shop local this holiday season. Small Business Saturday on November 30 is a great time to start. When you spend locally, you not only give a boost to Gaithersburg's locally owned and operated businesses, you'll also reduce waste (think fewer shipping boxes) and save energy (less driving). Small Business Saturday fits in perfectly with Montgomery County's Gift Outside the Box Campaign, highlighting ways to buy local, gift experiences, gift greener, give back, and reduce, reuse and recycle.

Explore the Campaign here, and lots of ways to participate in Gaithersburg on our Holiday Festivities pages.

This is a City of Gaithersburg, Maryland announcement.

Good morning, Roy... I love shopping local... great to support community businesses, but also they typically offer things that you don't find in the big box stores.

Good morning Roy. As the big chains invade the downtown areas of the big cities, shopping local is more important than ever. Enjoy your day!

Good morning, Roy Kelley it's very important to help small business owners next Saturday and continue throughout 2020....

I didn't really do any shopping yesterday, but if I had, I likely would have tried to shop at a small business, rather than a big business.

Hello Roy - the word is definitely "out" as Small Business Saturday hits Gaithersburg and other communities Saturday November 30.  May it be a success for all.

Roy, I like to shop locally. Small business owners bring a familiar feeling to shopping at their establishments...

We also observe a Small Business Saturday here in Sacramento as well.  I believe it is the same day (2 days after Thanksgiving).

Good idea! Shopping local also makes shopping less stressful and you're closer to home. Plus, almost everything you can get elsewhere is usually practically in your own backyard. Saving gas and the roads open to people who have to travel is an unselfish act.

Have a GREAT day!

Love the idea of supporting our local small business owners/ neighbors By shopping on Small Business Saturday.  Often times we can find unique one of a kind pieces for friends and family.
