MCPS Briefing on a New Elementary School at Kelley Park
At a Mayor and City Council Work Session on August 12, MCPS staff will present community feedback about Gaithersburg Elementary School #8, a possible new school in the Gaithersburg cluster. It is proposed for several acres of Kelley Park, a 28-acre park with three ballfields, playgrounds, tennis courts, sand volleyball, and open space. Learn more about the project here.
This is a City of Gaithersburg, Maryland announcement.

Roy Kelley This is wonderful local information
Great information for the locals, Roy. Are you related to the George Kelley that the park is named after?
Myrl Jeffcoat
I do not think I am related to that person. However, I have some distant relatives that I have never met in Maryland.
You may be "sort of retired", but you're still current with what's going on locally!
Enjoy the butterfly exhbit in Brookside Gardens' South Conservatory where you'll be surrounded by hundreds of brilliant live butterflies from North America, Costa Rica, Africa and Asia. You'll learn about their amazing metamorphosis, the important role butterflies play in healthy ecosystems, and how to ensure these beautiful insects thrive in our own gardens.
Please note our summer exhibit hours: From July 1 - August 31 weekday hours are from 10:00am - 1:00pm and weekends from 10:00am - 5:00pm. From September 1 until September 22, hours are 10:00am - 5:00pm daily. For important visitor information, group information, opportunities to learn more about butterflies, and ways to become involved in the Exhibit, please visit here.
Roy, your area must be expanding if there is another elementary school in the works.
Thanks so much for stopping by. It is always good to hear from you.
