Gaithersburg Public Hearing: Affordable Housing
The Mayor and City Council will hold a public hearing to review proposed amendments to the Affordable Housing Regulations on Monday, February 4 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. The amendments would include revisions to the for-sale pricing in Moderately Priced Dwelling Units and Workforce Housing Units and establish rental pricing for senior housing with services.
Proposed administrative changes would clarify the application process for rental units, terminate the controls in the event of foreclosure, and expand priority to Veterans. Comment can be made at the meeting or via e-mail to louise.kauffmann@gaithersburgmd.gov.

Good morning Roy. A big issue in Chicago as regentrification of neighborhoods grips the city and developers. Enjoy your day
The presence of housing for those hard working individuals is a very important thing, so I hope that this hearing will go well and the right procedures will be put in place.
If anyone wants to know what's gong on in Gaithersburg...Roy Kelley is the one who knows!
Good morning Roy. Affordable housing is becoming an oxymoron in this country in most places.
Good morning, Roy - housing affordability is an issue in big and small cities across the country. A new trend of dorm-like rentals with a private sleeping space but common area living is making an appearance in our area. Combine that with increasing multi-generational living - it's interesting to see the rapid changes.
Good morning, Roy... Affordable Housing seems to be the buzz word here in the Charlotte metro area these days... not that they are making great strides in making it available.
You always provide good information for local residents. Thank you for sharing
Good Morning Roy Kelley - Gaithersburg sounds like a very active community where people get involved for the greater good. As residents, you don't have to love politics but I still think you need to know what's going on and support good causes.
Roy, having talks on affordable housing is needed, and probably in every larger city across the country.
Hi Roy, you are always doing a great public service by promoting these events. On another note, will you and the Chef be watching the Superbowl today?
So many cities around me these days do not want affordable housing so this is a meeting I would attend.
Affordable Housing is becoming an important topic in many areas of the nation. I hope Gaithersburg comes to a good working solution.
Roy, sadly these public hearings politicians talk a good game but when it comes to action, the only developers that get fast tracked are the ones that do favors for the politicians... well at least that is how it is in my part of the world...Endre
