Maryland Blogger: Doctor's Orders

Doctor's Orders

Doctor's Orders

Chef Dolores went for her annual physical examination on Friday. One of the recommendations of the doctor was to do more walking. She did not play as much golf this year as she has in recent years. That advice could be applied to both of us.

We took a Saturday morning walk to our local farmers' market. We met the owner of a local business, Pinkava Coffee Co., and enjoyed a cup of caramel coffee. Then we stopped to visit with the owners of Bellas Nicole Jewelry and Dolores found the right people to repair some of her jewelry.

It began to rain as we were leaving the market and I noticed that Dolores did pick up her pace. We enjoyed a hot bowl of soup for lunch after we got home.

The Main Street Farmers and Artists Market is open year-round on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Main Street Pavilion, one block off of Kentlands Boulevard.

What a lovely post.  It speaks of the love that you have for your wife and your willingness to take the 'doctor's orders' for her and make them apply to both of you, so you could join together and make it part of the life you share!

And I must say too that walking around a farmer's market is a terrific way to enjoy some extra steps!!

I have some serious walkers in my family.  However, I can't really get into it like I wish.  I do swim laps however.

Hi Roy-I'm glad that you and Dolores are listening to the doctor!  Walking is good for all of us!  Larry and I walk every morning and will often go out in the evening for another walk!!!  Keep up the good walking!

Oh, I love this, Roy! I think we all need to pick up the pace and do more walking. I'm glad she (and you!) are taking the doctor's orders seriously!

On your mark, get set, go...that's how many feel this seaon. Juggling to get things done & be where we need to be. Don't let yourself be a distracted driver or pedestrian. Give full time and attention when driving & walking. See tips at:
