Good morning Roy. Chicago could definitely use a program like this. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your day!
Good morning Roy. What an environmentally responsible program. I wish my city and/or county would do this.
Looking for unique gifts or holiday decorations? The Holiday Craft Show is Saturday, December 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bauer Drive Community Recreation Center. That's one week from today. This @MoCoRec event features original work from local and regional artists.
Roy,
We had a gigantic composter when we lived in Los Angeles. Our gardener used to put all the cuttings from the grass (3 lawns) and other plant materials. We added the veggies, the egg shells,, etc. In the time we lived there we transformed hard clay soil into black dirt. Everything thrived. Here is Santa Barbara, there is a program too. A
Roy, what a great benefit for those residents of Gaithersburg, and hope many take advantage of this!
what a great idea - I don't put egg shells down the garbage disposal any more - what happens to the compost - do they use it for the county or give it back to residents?
There have been reports in the news that glass is not being recycled by some recyclers. However, Montgomery County, Maryland recycles glass and will continue to recycle glass bottles and jars as part of its’ comprehensive recycling program.
This reminds me to start my coffee grounds pile. It will make my garden rich by spring.
Thanks so much for your comments. Have an outstanding week.
Always nice to see that others are composting too!
Hello Roy, I am not sure that be have this kind of recycling here but we should.
