Spider Flowers, Cleome, are very popular in the home gardens in Kentlands. And, they are fun to photograph. You may wish to add them to your home garden.

"Spider flowers don’t emit a noticeable fragrance, but hummingbirds and butterflies didn’t get the memo, because they are drawn to these flowers all summer long. An additional unusual but welcome visitor to these flower clusters is the hummingbird moth, which looks so much like a hummingbird as it darts about at twilight you’ll do a double-take.

A member of the Capparaceae family, the genus Cleome is often referred to by the common names of spider flower, rocky mountain bee plant, and stinking clover. As an annual you can grow this in all climates; the tropical plant is perennial only in zones 10 and 11." The Spruce

Subhash Sharma  "These nice looking Spider flowers (Cleome hassleriana) also called Spider plant are native to southern South America in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, and southeast Brazil and because of their lovely colour are also called 'Pink Queen' despite the fact that some species of this plant also have flowers of purple, pink, or white colour."

Mr. Sharma is a Facebook friend from India. He now lives in Ireland and frequently comments on my photographs as I post them on Facebook.

Very unusual looking flower, Roy.  I don't believe I've seen anything quite like it.
