Chef Dolores had cataract surgery at Palisades Eye Surgery Center

We were up very early to go into Bethesda, Maryland to the offices of Palisades Eye Surgery Center. Chef Dolores had her first cataract surgery, on her left eye. They select the eye in the worst condition for the first surgery. The laser procedure is supposed to be be current state of the art to remove cataracts. She has a new Interocular Lens from Tecnis.

We have a full schedule for follow up appointments and a month of eye drops. Her appointment for the right eye surgery will take place in a couple of weeks.

She has to remember to take all her eye drops during the day.  It's a hectic schedule...we know!

Hi Roy... here's wishing Dolores a good recovery. My husband had both eyes done and it was a "no muss, no fuss" event. I know this is facing me, as well, at some point, but so far my doctor says I can wait.

Good morning, Roy Kelley always wishing Chef Dolores well .... she'll have wonderful vision after both eyes are done.... I have that ahead of me.... a bit early right now, but I can't drive well at night...it's progressing....

Hi Roy.  I think it may be time for you to help out Chef Dolores around the home until she is back to normal.

I am the assigned eye drops nurse. Seven drops a day are on the schedule for the first week. Thankfully, the doctor provided a printed schedule for the morning, noon and evening requirements. The schedule will be more complicated when the other eye is done and each eye will have different requirements for a month after the procedures.

Good morning Roy. I was the eye drop nurse for my wife. So great with the new lens. She went from poor vision to 20/20 without glasses. Congrats to Dolores!

You are both in my prayers, I have heard good things about this surgery though, so I am sure all will go well.

Roy,

This is one those miracle surgeries that both of my parents went through with great success and improved vision.  Wishing Dolores all the best!

Roy, hugs go out to Dolores, and hope she is doing well tonight.  One of my clients had this surgery, and so happy she now can drive at night again.

Preparedness planning is not just for families, it's for businesses too. Up to 40% of businesses never recover after a disaster. Don't let your business become a part of that statistic. Prepare a business continuity plan. Find resources at:
