I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea this year is half over already, and we are staring July 4th in the face.  I have family coming home for the holiday.  I'm glad for that!

Good morning, Roy... the Kentlands July 4th celebrations should be great fun! Hopefully you and Doris will be able to enjoy them. That dahlia is magnificent, by the way.

Best wishes to all for a very special Independence Day. Chef Dolores and I attended the community breakfast before the annual parade this morning.

Parks & Recreation Monthparksmonth
On July 2, Gaithersburg joined in the national celebration of Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association, with the issuing of an official Mayor and City Council proclamation. This year's theme, "A Lifetime of Discovery," challenges children and adults to explore the "undiscovered" roles of local parks and recreation. To celebrate, the City is offering a variety of unique programs and open houses throughout the month of July. Explore them all here.
