Wine Tasting at Serpent Ridge Vineyard, Westminster, Maryland

We were exploring the rural areas of Carroll County, Maryland and decided to visit Serpent Ridge Vineyard to sample their wines. We sampled nine of their wines. Dolores' favorite was the Cabernet Rose and my favorite was the Serpent Kiss. Click on the link to learn more about the wines available at Serpent Ridge. We do recommend a visit.

Good morning Roy.  I'd be fine tasting wines here as long as the name is strictly figurative.

All Season at Fulks Corner Market and Year Round at The Main Street Market!

SPOTLIGHT ON:

TUCKEY'S FRUIT AND VEGETABLE FARM

Ryan and Katie Tuckey may live in Pennsylvania but they are no strangers to Gaithersburg.   Owners of Tuckey's Fruit and Vegetable Farm in Gardners, PA  they are on their eleventh year at Fulks Corner Market and  ninth year at Main Street Farmers and Artists Market.  Their mission is to make a living by growing and selling produce which has been sprayed as little as possible and is as fresh as possible.  Most produce are picked the day before they come to market.  They also sell brown eggs from their completely free range chickens, honey from hives in their orchard, and apple cider in the fall.  They'll probably be picking the very first peaches of the year this week.  They'll also have Methley Plums in two weeks or less.  And by the end of July their stand will be full with new potatoes, yellow and green zucchini, white peaches, red, black and yellow raspberries, broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage.

Tuckey's Fruit and Vegetable Farm can be found Thursdays at Fulks Corner Farmers Market from 12:30-6 p.m. at the corner of Route 355 and Fulks Corner Avenue in Olde Towne and at the Main Street Farmers and Artists Market year round.

I like the creative label on that bottle of wine, Roy.  Serpent Ridge Vineyard also looks like a wonderful place to spend a little time.

Serpent Ridge...Serpent's Kiss...  Roy, really curious about the genesis of the names. Believe Google says it was once known as Snake Ridge...renamed to Serpent Ridge...a better name. The owners claim they have a lot of fun with the logo and no, there are no longer snakes in the  fields.
