Cocktail Suggestion: Elderflower Gin and Tonic

Cocktail Suggestion: Elderflower Gin and Tonic

Chef Dolores has prepared some especially good gin and tonic cocktails and I thought you might like to have the recipe for your summertime happy hours.

Yields 1 cocktail

A fusion of Gin and Tonic that pairs Bombay Sapphire gin with Elderflower Liqueur.

2 large spheres of ice

2 oz. Bombay Sapphire gin

1 oz. Elderflower Liqueur ( I used Lloyd's)

1   3” strip of orange zest

1 6-8 oz. bottle of Fever-Tree tonic water (I used diet Fever-Tree)

Orange bitters to taste.

Put ice spheres in an oversized glass (I use 8-10 cubes)

Gently pour in the gin and Elderflower liqueur

Using a paring knife, cut off a strip or orange zest over the glass. Rub the rim of the glass with the zest and put it into the glass.

Slowly pour in the tonic and add the orange bitters to taste.

Hi Roy... no happy hours for me, as I don't drink alcohol. As for gin, I can barely tolerate the smell. But I'll keep this in mind in case anyone comes to my home and asks for a gin and tonic.

Good morning, Roy Kelley I drink "ice water" on the rocks with a wedge of lemon.... sometimes, I'll order it straight up, no fruit....

Good morning Roy. I like a good drink, but gin is not on the list! Thanks anyway! I will pass it on to my son! Enjoy your day!

Good morning Roy.  We're not big drinkers in my home, but I may have to make an exception for this one.

Roy, have not had a gin & tonic for years, and with our very hot summer already, may have to try this one.

Roy I do think that you and Chef Dolores make a good pair when it comes to the many things you do and enjoy in life...for instance, matters of entertainment, food, and beverage.

Roy Kelley - I could have used that Gin & Tonic last night! Long story, but I won't go into all that. The drink sounds refreshing and a perfect summer drink.

Have a nice evening!

Roy, I am not a gin fan but I think the elder flower and orange zest would give it a good flavor. I do like the Fever Tree mixers it's not good using good liquor with cheap mixers!

The flower would add a nice touch. I know you will enjoy this drink.
