Maryland Blogger: ActiveRain Challenge Idea: Follow Members Every Day

ActiveRain Challenge Idea: Follow Members Every Day

ActiveRain Challenge Idea: Follow Members Every Day

ActiveRain Ambassador Debe Maxwell is sponsoring the May Challenge for member bloggers. She is asking for suggestions for future monthly contests/challenges. This is my second suggestion.

Topic Idea: Following additional ActiveRain members every day.

Challenge: Follow an additional five members or more each day for 30 days.

Topic Summary: Some of us like easy challenges and especially those that will help us build our network of contacts and to pay it forward at the same time. This challenge does not require a sponsor and can be started at any time. Simply follow an additional five or more members each day for thirty days. You will earn 1,500 points for doing this and you will earn additional points when some of those members reciprocate by following you.

One of my daily habits is to visit the Membership Roster and to follow a number of the new members. If you leave a message as you follow them, more of them will follow you as well.

Learning Opportunity: Building your network should be a positive activity for you as you learn from other members and seek referrals from other parts of the country. Do not pay any attention to the members who recommend that you limit the number of members you follow. There are no limits.

Good morning Roy.  I'm not so sure that I want to follow people until I see their production.

Good morning, Roy Kelley if this is done properly, it could be a very good challenge.... it would encourage members to read posts and follow those who write quality posts....

Good morning Roy. I seem to have a number of people I follow daily. Not sure I can keep adding and have time to read and comment! But like the concept and probably would participate. Enjoy your day!

This may be an opportunity to get to know more members and to decide if you want to continue to follow them.

Following another member is just a matter of clicking on 'Follow'. There is no continuing commitment.

So easy; so good for relationshiop building. Hope people will be sincere in following and getting to know new members, not just for the point aspect.

Hi Roy! Thank you so much for your entry! I love the idea of being a welcoming committee. I only wish that we didn't have so many spammers joining each day - it's become quite difficult to sift through them since a lot of them are using names. You click through and see that they are gamers or some other spammer!

I don't remember it being this crazy in years past, do you?!

Happy Wednesday, Roy!

Debe Maxwell, CRS

It is not difficult to identify more than 5 new members each day on the Membership Roster. I do it every day. Yes, you do need to skip over the escort services, etc.

I am woefully behind in participating in any of the May contests.  I hope to do better next month.

Roy, this would be a great way to build new relationships. Excellent idea.

Myrl Jeffcoat

There is only one May challenge and you still have time to participate by offering your suggestions for future contest/challenges.

Sounds like it would be a fun thing to do and I am up for it.  I tend to only follow those that follow me and comment on my posts.

I wish I had a extra 10 hours in a day for this fun challenge.  Maybe I should do it.

It would be a good practice to add new members daily. I'm trying. Ha.

Hi Roy,
The interraction and networking within ActiveRain is what makes it so unique. I usually try to welcome and follow First Time bloggers.

Roy, I do like this month's active rain challenge. It has my thinking cap on! I hope you are having a great day!

Roy, I like your attitude. You are encouraging engagement with each other, and that is a good thing.

We will see how this goes.

I hope people will consider reciprocating.

Hi Roy- it would be an excellent way of broadening who we read and follow here at ActiveRain.

That would be easy to do and would rack up points. I am finding many don't care nearly as much about points like they used to.

Hi Roy

I think there is tremendous value to not only add new followers, but to engage with them on a regular basis. What a potential referral opportunity this could be! And it broadens our perspective and learning!
