Maryland Blogger: Meeting the Candidates at Pinky & Pepe's Grape Escape

Meeting the Candidates at Pinky & Pepe's Grape Escape

Chef Dolores and I attended a local event, at Pinky & Pepe's Grape Escape in Kentlands, to meet some of the candidates in the June primary election. We had the opportunity to meet and chat with Gabe Albornoz and Marilyn Balcombe, who are on the ballot for the Montgomery County Council-at-Large positions and Matthew Lee, a candidate for the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee. The primary election will be confusing for many because of the unusually large number of candidates.

One of the benefits of meeting at Pinky & Pepe's Grape Escape is that we were able to enjoy some of the wine and beer selections. Dolores had a glass of the happy hour chardonnay and I sampled two of the craft beers that were on tap for the evening. I really liked and recommend the Flying Dog Initiative Pilot #02, 7.4% Alc. by Vol. and the Stone Totalitarian Imperial Russan Stout, 10.6% Alc. by Vol.

Good morning Roy.  Always a good idea to talk to the candidates and get a feel for their beliefs.  I do like the name of one of them.

Getting to know the candidates is essential in choosing the right candidates. I love how you and Dolores get around and try new experiences. Being active in the community is very important.

Roy, sounds very enjoyable, and nice to hear what the candidates have to say.  As you say, it can be confusing!
