Shopping at McCutcheon's Apple Products in Frederick, Maryland

We were on out way to visit the tasting room at Flying Dog Brewery and Chef Dolores requested a stop for some shopping at McCutcheon's Apple Products, Inc. in Frederick, Maryland. This family factory store has been in business since 1938 and is a local landmark that is much loved by area residents.

Dolores needed some of their wonderful Fig Preserves for some recipes and selected a few other items as well. My job was to carry the basket and to load the bags in our car. Click on the above link to visit the website. If you are out of the area, they will ship your selections. We frequently select some of the McCutcheon's products to ship as gifts to family members.

I must be hungry. That sounds Delish, too. I have a friend who attends an Apple Festival every Fall.

Roy Kelley - Mrs. Dolores Kelley always knows what's best for her man. McCutceon's Apple Products in Frederick, MD must be a favorite place to visit for locals and tourists.  I think it's wonderful that the place has been in business since 1938! The 30's was not a profitable time to start a business. It must have been a courageous move for them to start up during this period in history. From what I read, minimum hourly wage was .25 per hour.

Thanks Roy,  Now I am thinking apples for a dessert for tonight.  Need to check out the website.

Meet Zayd Salahuddin Zayd
Zayd Salahuddin, a fourth grade student at DuFief Elementary School, was recently named Gaithersburg Junior Mayor. He was selected out of a field of 103 essayists and six video interview finalists. Zayd's first official appearance will be at the State of the City event on April 26. He will then accompany the Mayor and City Council to numerous events throughout the year. In his essay, Zayd was asked to explore concepts of leadership. "An important initiative that I would want to lead would be making our city a leading user of green energy," he wrote. "This project (a green energy festival) is important to me because I want other cities to see how clean and pretty Gaithersburg is, and model their own cities after ours." Read his winning essay here.
