Maryland Blogger: Caretaker's House, Kentlands Landmark

Caretaker's House, Kentlands Landmark

Caretaker's House, Kentlands Landmark

The Caretaker's House which is also known at the Superintendent's House was built by Frederick A. Tschiffely, Jr. around 1900.  The structure has been modified several times and the home is now a private residence in Kentlands.

The City of Gaithersburg considers this property to have historic significance.  Those of us that walk through Kentlands on a regular basis enjoy the beauty of the Caretaker's Home which is just a block from the Kentlands Mansion.

Kentlands is a neo-traditional community that is one of the favorite choices for families that are relocated to the metropolitan area of the District of Columbia.

Roy, the Caretaker's House is a real treasure;  a beauty.  And you can feel the history.  I can imagine how nice it is to get away from the Washington DC area and call the the Kentlands home.  I had friends who worked in government in DC and escaped nightly to a beautiful home in McLean, Va.  These friends were just great in introducing me to the history and beauty in your part of the world.

Good Morning Roy Kelley - It would be fun to tour the Caretakers House. It looks like it would be perfect for parties and Christmas tours. I just love to step back in time and see and learn about places like this.

May you enjoy your day today!
