Amazon Officials Toured Montgomery County, Maryland

Officials from Amazon recently visited Montgomery County, Maryland as they search for a location for their second headquarters that would add an additional 50,000 jobs. Three of the final 20 locations on the Amazon list are in the Washington, DC area. Jeffrey B. Bezos owns The Washington Post and has purchased a very large home in the area.

"If Amazon opens its second headquarters in Montgomery County, the project could benefit all of Maryland by creating 101,000 jobs and bringing $17 billion per year in economic activity and $7.7 billion in annual wages. That's according to a recent study commissioned by the county and the state's Department of Commerce.

Montgomery County is one of 20 finalists selected by the online retail giant to be the home of its second headquarters. Based in Seattle, Amazon plans to invest $5 billion in what it calls HQ2, which promises to create 50,000 high-paying jobs."  Study Predicts Bonanza if Amazon HQ2 Comes to Montgomery County

Good morning Roy. Sounds good, but was it the give back to get it! Too many are ready to give huge incentives for a promise in return. Enjoy your day!

A new Amazon work location would be a welcome addition to Montgomery County.

Roy, I heard this group from Amazon was in Denver earlier this week.  Wonder where they will decide to put this headquarters?

I suspect that several cities around the country are hoping to win the hearts of Amazon, and procure that second headquarters.  I know that Sacramento is among them.

It is quite the opportunity Roy. Boston is in the hunt and we would benefit where so many workers from that area are buying homes in NH.

That would be a big shot in the arm for the economy. Amazon is huge and getting bigger all the time.
