Maryland Blogger: Craft Beer Recommendation: Horchata Lager from Flying Dog

Craft Beer Recommendation: Horchata Lager from Flying Dog

Craft Beer Recommendation: Horchata Lager from Flying Dog

Chef Dolores has been ill this week and I took her to the doctor on Friday. After a stop to pick up three prescriptions and a visit to the library to pick up more books, we picked up some sandwiches from Wendy's to take home for lunch. Dolores asked me to share one of her favorite craft beers. Horchata Lager from Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick, Maryland is as ale with cinnamon and vanilla beans. Drink responsibly. 6.8% Alc. by Vol.

Craft beers are popping up all around the Country like "Dandilions" in the spring landscape.  I think the fad will settle down as years go by

I have to admit I am a craft beer junkie, this one sounds excellent.

Hi Roy, thanks for sharing the beer recommendation. Hope your Chef recovers from her illness quickly - it's sure been going around this winter.  Stay warm this weekend. D

Yesterday, while at my local grocery, I stood in front of the large cooler with an enormous variety of specialty lagers, ales and beer.  I couldn't select just one, so I ended up coming home empty handed.

I am a lager fan and love the Tampa based micro-breweries. Right now I am enjoying a Yuengling traditional lager after an oceanside walk.

ROy, I am not a beer fan, but my husband sure is. Sad to read about those killed in the California mudslides

Roy,

We hope Chef Dolores gets well really soon, and Ron went to the same high school at Rebecca Riskin.  She was a few years ahead of Ron.  We both re met her when we moved here.  She was the #1 agent in Santa Barbara when it came to luxury listings.  A

That sounds like an interesting mix for sure.  I like horchata, so I would likely give it a try!

Recycling Carts & Bins with Lidsrecycle

Don't let the winds of March blow your recycling materials all over your neighborhood. You don't want to be "that guy" when you get home! Residents living in single family homes and townhouses have two choices when it comes to containers for Gaithersburg's convenient single stream recycling program: 18 gallon bins with detachable lids or 65 gallon wheeled carts. Recyclable paper, plastic, glass, steel and aluminum materials can all go into one single container for collection on your regular recycling day. To order a replacement container or a lid, click here or call the Department of Public Works at 301-258-6370. Learn more about the impact of your recycling efforts in this week's Gaithersburg inDepth article.
