Snow Emergency Notice for Montgomery County, Maryland

Snow Emergency Notice for Montgomery County, Maryland

The Maryland State Police, in conjunction with local agencies and the State Highway Administration, has implemented the Snow Emergency Plan in Montgomery County. This plan is to assist the State Highway Administration in snow clearing operations throughout the county.

Effective on 1/4/2018 at 5:00 a.m. all vehicles on the roadway must be equipped with snow chains or snow tires on both driving wheels of motor vehicles. In addition, a parking ban is imposed on all snow emergency routes in the County.

We have a cold and windy snow day in Maryland. There are many cancellations. I have been clearing snow this morning and Dolores just made a call to cancel a medical appointment. It is a good day to stay home and enjoy a good book. I will blog about the David Balcacci novel that I am reading today.

Stay safe, Roy. Our governor has also issued a snow emergency for the state, but right now it does not appear that the Piedmont will be affected.... mostly in the mountains and in the north of the state. I guess he was covering all his bases.

Roy, glad to hear you are staying home, and you should have someone else clear your snow for you.    Reading a good book and a pot of homemade soup or chili sounds good!

We are definitely staying at home today. Chef Dolores just served a cup of hot chocolate. The snowplows have been working all morning in our neighborhood.

Good morning Roy.  From what I'm seeing on the news.  Today may be a good day to stay inside and read some books.

The cold weather in Maryland will definitely convince many of our retirees to head your way to find a home in the sun.

It is so cold here in Clarksville but no snow. We will not get out of the 20's today. Layer up and stay warm, Roy.
