Debbie Reynolds Best Year Yet Challenge
ActiveRain Ambassador Debbie Reynolds is the sponsor of one of the January challenges for blogger members. "Pick 3 goals or things you are going to pursue this year that are important to you. These can be in any areas of your life. Tell why you selected these and why these are important to you. Share your plan and the actions you are going to take to achieve success. How often are you going to review your progress?"
For the purposes of this blog I will focus on personal activities for the new year. Dolores and I are both avid readers and one of my goals is to continue to read a minimum of a book a week during 2018. Hopefully, this will be easy for me since I have now maintained this habit for several years. If you use the ActiveRain search field for 'Book Recommendation', you should be able to view many of my previous recommendations. If you are seeking a new positive activity for this year, I recommend more reading. We are fortunate to have an outstanding public library system in Montgomery County, Maryland and we are able to obtain most of our books from library. We also have a Kindle when we need to purchase online. I do maintain a list of the books I have read and we watch for the new books by our favorite authors.
A second goal for the year is to continue to make many day trips with an effort to make one every week when the weather is good. If you follow my blog, you already know about many of our favorite places to visit on a regular basis. We are annual members of Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, the Brandywine Museum of Art in Chadds Ford, PA, Winterthur in Wilmington, DE, The National Zoo in Washington, DC, Hillwood Estate & Museum in DC, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, VA. We also like to visit the Baltimore Museum of Art in Baltimore, MD and attend the events at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, MD. We have also spent many weeks in Colonial Williamsburg and nearby areas. We also enjoy visiting wineries and breweries and taking advantage of the wonderful selection of restaurants in the area. When we are in Norfolk, VA, the Chrysler Museum is one of our favorite destinations. Dolores wants to spend more time in Charlottesville, VA, the home of the University of Virginia where I attended undergraduate and law school.
Another goal is to continue my time consuming hobby of photography. I always include at least one photograph in my blog posts. My specialty niche is flower photography and we try to visit the places that will have the best flowers to photograph. I do not like to carry around a lot of equipment and use a Canon PowerShot G11 camera and edit my photographs with iPiccy.com which is a free service. I post photographs in a number of Facebook groups and have a very large following in many other countries. If you enjoy my photographs, I hope you are following me on Facebook.
Have an outstanding 2018!
