Book Recommendation: Deep Freeze by John Sandford

Deep Freeze (2017) is the latest thriller and novel number ten featuring Minnesota investigator Virgil Flowers by The New York Times bestselling author John Sandford. Dolores and I have read forty books by this author and recommend all of them. Click on the links to learn more about the author and his books.

 Goodreads Review of Deep Freeze

"Class reunions: a time for memories—good, bad, and, as Virgil Flowers is about to find out, deadly—in this New York Timesbestselling thriller from John Sandford.

Virgil knows the town of Trippton, Minnesota, a little too well. A few years back, he investigated the corrupt—and as it turned out, homicidal—local school board, and now the town’s back in view with more alarming news: A woman’s been found dead, frozen in a block of ice.

There’s a possibility that it might be connected to a high school class of twenty-five years ago that has a mid-winter reunion coming up, and so, wrapping his coat a little tighter, Virgil begins to dig into twenty years’ worth of traumas, feuds, and bad blood. In the process, one thing becomes increasingly clear to him.

It’s true what they say: High school is murder."

Good morning Roy.  This would be an appropriately named book to read this week from the weather reports I'm seeing.

The review for this book gives me a chill. Living in a different state around lakes reminded me of the many frozen bodies - all too chilling for comfort. This is the type of book that seems to require reading by a cozy fire with a blanket and a glass of wine.
