Holiday Craft Beer Tastings at Flying Dog Brewery, Frederick, MD

Chef Dolores and I made a holiday season visit to Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick, Maryland to sample some of their current offerings of craft beers. They offer flights of four selections and we usually share two flights to be able to sample eight different beers. Click on the above link to visit the website for the available craft beers, the tasting room hours and the directions to plan your visit. This brewery was recently recognized as the best in Maryland.

Their holiday gift pack is called the Last Minute Gift Partnership Pack and includes their Chocolate Milk Stout, 6.3% Alc. by Vol., Caramel Lager, 6.85 Alc. by Vol., and the X-Mas Day IPA, 6.8% Alc. by Vol. This is an excellent selection and we purchased a 12 bottle pack to take home.

Some of our other favorites were the 2017 Chestnut Ale, 6.6% Alc. by Vol., the Family Drama Imperial Pilsner, 8.4% Alc. by Vol. and the St. Eadman Abbey Ale, 8.7% Alc. by Vol. The only one that was available in a six pack was the St. Eadman Abbey Ale and we purchased one to take home.

Roy, love hearing about your excursions and where you have lunch and dinner with your wife.  Sounds like a great place.

I thought of you this week, I went to a very small craft brewery not far from me. It is called Pipe Dreams Brewing, started by 2 young friends, they brew and sell right from their place, which looks like someones garage that opens to a back yard. Picnic tables, stools, yard games and dogs welcome. A small menu of bar food. I tried a peanut butter beer, it tasted good but too think to have a second. Next i tried a lighter sweet beer. It was really good. I need to take some pictures when i go back to share and write a blog about. They have about a dozen brews they make and sell. They can and bottle their brews to go right on the spot as you order them.

What a wonderful thing to do together.  Keep doing that, I am becoming somewhat knowledgeable on craft beers.  A

"Chocolate Milk Stout". . .What a fun label that sounds like, Roy.  If I don't connect with you before the end of Christmas, I hope you have a wonderful holiday.

The gift pack would be welcomed by many in my family. My sons and sons-in-law like craft beers.
