Passport Services in Gaithersburg

"Planning this spring or summer's next adventure? Passport services are available by appointment at City Hall, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  To apply for a passport, you must bring a completed application, proof of U.S. citizenship, 2x2 inch color photograph, proof of identity containing your signature and physical description or photograph, and a check or money order.

The cost for regular service is $135 for adults ages 16 and older and $105 for children ages 15 and under. Expedited service is an additional $60. Click here for complete details and passport requirements."  This is a City of Gaithersburg announcement.

If you live outside of the area, I hope this a good reminder for you to check the expiration dates of the passports for your family. There is an extra fee for expedited service if you do not make your renewals well ahead of your planned trips. By the way, blog about your trips after you have returned to your home. You do not want to notify the world that you will not be home/

Always good to know the details of getting things done in the neighborhood you live in. Nice way to get this message out Roy!

Roy, great information for Gaithersburg residents, and I just did mine about a year ago.

This is good advice Roy Kelley. I would add (based upon painful experience) once you get the passport, if you're going to travel, know what the passport rules are for the different countries you'll be traveling to before you get on that first plane. The rules change from country to country.

Nice message for those needing a passport or a renewal. My advice, from past experience, is to allow plenty of time before traveling internationally. I still have a few years left on mine before renewal time!

You remind me I need to get a passport replaced. This sounds like an easy way to "get er done," in Gaithersburg.  Happy Monday, Roy.

Hi Roy, we got our pass ports last year here in Austin, lucky for us they took our photos for us and it took the full six weeks to get them back. Residents of Gaithersburg will enjoy this blog post.
