Kentlands Photowalk: Clematis Seed Pod IMG 4489

When you need a blog topic, just take a photowalk through your neighborhood and take some photographs of what you see. Every photograph can become the topic for a blog. The clematis seed pods appear when the flowers are gone and are interesting to photograph.

Subhash Sharma  This clematis seed pod not only looks beautiful but has the appearance of the spun gold or spun glass with their almost perfectly rounded shapes. They feel spongy to the touch almost like an old fashioned hair bun shape that resembled a donut. Clematis vines (Clematis species) produce an abundance of flowers in many different colours and shapes depending on the variety.

Mr. Sharma is a Facebook friend from India. He now lives in Ireland and frequently comments on my photographs as I post them on Facebook. If you wish to see more of my photographs, follow me on Facebook.

Thanks for sharing the photo an the photowalk idea.  I like to take pictures when I am out in the woods - though they often times end up with a tail or ear in the corner of them.

I love Clemantis. The Jackmanni is my favorite. I never knew what the seed pod looked like. I would love to have a Jackmanni some day. I know they grow at my elevation, but I've never lived where the lighting requirements seemed right.

Look for the special gifts of nature when you are our for your photowalks in your home community.

Clematis Seed Pods are simply beautiful! You're absolutely right Roy, nature provides many gifts for free. Taking time to notice can change attitudes in a hurry. Photo-walks are a great way to stay physically and mentally healthy.

We have the coldest morning of the season in Montgomery County, Maryland. It is definitely time to get out the sweaters.
