Kentlands Photowalk: Pansy IMG 4637

As I take photowalks through Kentlands, our home community in Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878, I enjoy photographing the flowers. Many of the small gifts of nature are very colorful. Pay close attention and enjoy the beauty of pansies when you are out and about.

Kentlands, a very walkable neighborhood with easy Metro access is a favorite area for families relocated to the Metro area of Washington, DC.

Subhash Sharma  This is a beautiful looking Pansy flower which has long been a flower of remembrance. Indeed, pansies have often been placed upon memorial markers and stones to honour and remember those who are no longer on the physical plane. They are also a symbol of togetherness and union, and perhaps this is why they are so appropriate for remembering those who have passed from our lives. Their beauty is the perfect testimony to the love we have shared with others in the past. Keep pansies around you when you wish to remember the fond memories and kindnesses of loved ones who have passed from this earth.

Mr. Sharma is a Facebook friend from India. He now lives in Ireland and frequently comments on my photographs as I post them on Facebook.

Good Saturday morning Roy. Pansies are tough little flowers. They are one of the few that we can grow in the winter months.

These were my Mom's favorite flower..and she pressed them in pictures...laminated them on the back of obituaries as a keepsake memorial and was so particular about the contrast in the colors of their "faces" so that they would present their best natural beauty to the recipients of her gifts.

Good morning, Roy -- I like how you describe your photowalks in your neighborhood -- gifts of nature -- very aptly stated.   More people should take your advice and take a walk...with camera in hand -- such discoveries to be made.

Roy,

Love your gifts of nature, you are so right about that.  We are waiting for the weather to cool down, before I fill our planters with pansies.  They are such a delight in the garden, and I love your photo.  A

So many of the annuals in my backyard bit the dust in recent weeks.  However, I did procure a few 6 packs of pansies, and they added color to my landscape in a hurry.
