Kentlands Photowalk: Dianthus IMG 4582

Kentlands, our home community in Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878 is a very walkable neighborhood in the northwestern suburbs of Washington, DC. When you need a blog topic, all you have to do is take a photowalk. Every picture is a potential blog topic. The Dianthus is a small flower that you might not notice unless you are looking closely.

Kentlands is one of the favorite communities for families relocated to the Metro Area of Washington, DC. Kentlands is on the Ride-On bus route that takes you to the Metro station for commuter access to the District of Columbia and northern Virginia.

Subhash Sharma  This lovely bi-colour  Dianthus comes from a genus of about 300 species of which are included the common names of Carnation (D.caryophyllus) and Sweet William (D.barbatus). They are native to Europe and Asia, with a few species extending south to north Africa, and one species (D. repens) in arctic North America.

Mr. Shara is a Facebook friend from India. He lives in Ireland and frequently comments on my photographs as I post them on Facebook.

Roy- I love the colors in this Dianthus.  I wish I'd known about the Kentlands when we lived in Northern VA.

WOW...that's all I can say. Very nice picture.

You should see the moon pics I got tonight. That was my experiement with my new camera. I really had to work at it, but I got some decent shots.

I also wanted to tell you that I tried a new craft beer today. It's brewed with ginger and honey. It's not sweet. I wouldn't like that. There are overtones of ginger, but it's not strong at all. I think it's a bit light on the ginger. I was expecting and hoping for more ginger flavor. It's from the Crabtree Brewery in Greeley, CO. You might want to check it out. Maybe I will have to send another care package from Colorado.
