Kentlands is a planned neo-traditional community located within the City of Gaithersburg in the heart of Montgomery County, Maryland. This very walkable neighborhood is a favorite for families relocated to the Metro Area of Washington, DC. White picket fences are are typical in the community and clematis plants abound with blooms in many colors.

Subhash Sharma This nice looking Clematis also known by the names of Old man’s beard, Traveller’s  joy, Virgin’s bower is one of the most popular garden plants which, because of its versatility can be grown on walls, pergolas, frames, in containers, or left to scramble through trees and shrubs. The clematis symbolizes ingenuity or artifice, perhaps due to its seemingly clever climbing around trellises and walls. The clematis also means mental beauty. It's name comes from the Greek work “klema,” which means “twig,” “shoot,” “branch”  or “to break off.”

Mr. Sharma is a Facebook friend from India. He lives in Ireland and frequently comments on my photographs

A pretty good morning flower, Roy Kelley Who wouldn't want to see her first thing in the morning. Then a spot of tea afterwards.

Roy, my clematis is almost done for the year, and has much darker purple flowers.  They sure are beautiful flowers!

Another amazing looking flower and I learn so much about so many different flowers from your posts, not that I will ever remember everything about them if I were to see them in real life, haha.

Roy Kelley Thanks to Mr. Sharma for details about this clematis.  Love them.  We have one growing in front of old white wagon wheel.  Wish I had taken a picture before the current heat wave that has made the flowers wilt.

Beuty! My clematis was done in July, but they should be back next year. I'm sure these gorgeous, low-maintenance flowers contribute to a more pleasant environment in the community.
