Kentlands Annual Dog Swim

Kentlands Annual Dog Swim

The pool season in Kentlands will end on Labor Day, Monday September 7 at 9 p.m.  The Social (Main) Pool will close at 4 p.m. for the season and the annual Dog Swim will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.  The Lap and Baby Pools will remain open until 9 p.m.

Please be sure to review the Pool Rules posted in the locker rooms.

For out of the area readers, Kentlands is a planned neo-traditional community located within the City of Gaithersburg in the heart of Montgomery County, Maryland. Kentlands is a favorite neighborhood for families relocated to the Metro Area of the District of Columbia.

I hope someone posts pictures of this - I love hearing about community dog swims - unfortunately my standard poodle hates getting wet!

Good morning, Roy -- I also love hearing about these Dog Swims and as Lise Howe commented -- a perfect photo opportunity.

I remember this even from the past, i would love to see it. It does mean the end of summer though. I am not ready for winter for sure

Roy Kelley I will bet that scene will be a fun one to attend. I wonder; historically, have the city fathers put flea killer in the pool to reap the ultimate benefit for the attendees?

Roy, this has to be a big event, as most dogs do enjoy the water.   Have not ever heard you have a dog - do you?

Minot ND's pool is doing the same thing. I'd bring Jack but at 16 I'm afraid the old boy would drowned.

Always a sad day when the pools close for the summer. Still great weather out here but the realization that summer is officially over is painful
