Kentlands Photowalk: Coleus IMG 4215

As I take my photowalks through Kentlands, our home community in Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878, I look for flowers to photograph. Sometimes, pretty plants also catch my attention. This coleus would be a handsome addition for most gardens.

Subhash Sharma This Coleus of brightly coloured foliage is cultivated as ornamental plant which is an old Victorian parlour plant makes a 21st century comeback! Coleus is enjoying a new popularity with colourful hybrids and sun tolerant landscape varieties. Easy to grow and inexpensive, Coleus has become a gardener's high spot.

Mr. Sharma is a Facebook friend who lives in Ireland. He frequently comments on photographs that I post on Facebook.

Hi Roy-such a pretty coleus, they add a lot in gardens or even just one in a pot.

These are so easy to grow and to divide up so that you have many new plants.

I was admiring the coleus varieties at the Dallas Arboretum yesterday. There were some about five feet high. I never knew or saw them grow that big before! They do make love plants in any landscaping. As long as they get some shade and the right amount of sun they make a great addition!

Coleus is one of my favorite plants, it comes in a variety of colors, propagates easily and looks so beautiful!

Hi Roy.  I don't know if this coleus would grow in Florida, but I would love to have it in my garden.
