Gaithersburg Locations include Summit Hall and Gaithersburg Elementary Schools

The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Division of Food and Nutrition Services is providing free meals to children and teens during the summer months. Children 18 years of age and younger may go to a designated MCPS school location, Monday through Friday, to receive a healthy and nutritious lunch. No appointment is necessary, but the meal must be eaten on location.

In Gaithersburg, children may go to Summit Hall Elementary School on West Deer Park Road, where lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. through August 17.  Children may also go to Gaithersburg Elementary School on North Summit Avenue for a free lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. through August 24.

Roy - It's wonderful free meals are being offered to Gaithersburg children. They tend to focus and learn better when they're not hungry. Kudos to MCPS for providing meals to the kids!

Roy, Great information, I know that this is a problem in our town when the free and reduced breakfasts/ lunches end with the school year. Some of these student also bring backpacks of snacks home for the weekends during the rest of the year.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  It is always nice to receive your comments.  If your community does not have a summer lunch program for children, I encourage you to promote the idea.

Have an outstanding week with your camera in hand.

Roy, the free lunch program for Gaithersburg MD children really is a great program. Wish that program was around at a certain time of my life when I was a kid.
