Roy Kelley Sells Maryland Homes : Black Headed Python at the National Zoo

Black Headed Python at the National Zoo

Black Headed Python

You probably will not find any Black Headed Pythons in your neighborhood.  However, you will find this Black Headed Python at the National Zoo in Washington, DC.  Don't worry.  They do not eat people.

Plan to visit the National Zoo with your camera in hand.  Take the family for a wonderful experience.

Good morning Roy,

OMG..I have to admit I would not enjoy seeing this black headed python at the National Zoo in Washington. I'd have to pass this one and move on to softer and fuzzier creatures. I'll just take a peak at your photo thank you!

I am scared of reptiles. I would probably not look at one in the zoo.

Roy, I am not fond of snakes, however your picture gives this one his own special public moment. Thanks for sharing.

Good morning Roy,

The National Zoo in Washington is wonderful...a "must see" if visiting the area.

Good morning to all.  I always appreciate your comments.  When taking photographs through glass cases at the zoo, be sure not to use your flash.  It is always a challenge to avoid reflections.

Yea, just what everyone needs something like that roaming the neighborhoods going door to door.

Yuck - no snakes for me.  I never did like the reptile house at the zoo when I was a kid.  Of course, my brothers loved it.  We went to the National Zoo a lot when I was a little kid.  My parents would always take us and out of town visitors with kids to that Zoo.  I think the best day to go would be on Easter Sunday, the hats and outfits were as interesting to look at as the animals.

Sorry reptillian lovers, but I dispise snakes!  When I wias pre-teen, had an experience with a black racer wrapping around my foot and I kicked him off before he bit me.  Except for some that are illegal or in the zoo, Hawaii has no snakes.

It's comforting to know that #1 they aren't in my neighborhood, #2 that they don't eat people and #3 that they are contained in the display at the zoo.  I feel much better today!!!

Good morning Roy, I sure hope that I don't find any snakes like that in my neighbourhood, that would be a big shock indeed.

Roy, like Dorie, not a snake fan, and would NOT have gotten this close to snap the photo!

Roy, Let's keep these little critters at the National Zoo. Not sure I would have even made it that close to the area they are in!

Roy, another fantastic photo from the National Zoo in Washington DC, but I have to agree with Larry and Sheila, I'm much more comfortable seeing the Black Headed Python in a zoo enivronment than anywhere else!

Roy, This not one of my favorite sights at any zoo, but I'm sure that my 12 year old son would discover the snakes and other reptiles. Maybe next time you will photograph something more to my liking?

Not a fan of snakes but it does have some beautiful markings.  The patterns in nature can be mesmerizing...

Thank you very much for your feedback.   It appears that you should blog about snakes if you wish to receive lots of comments.  I will share some more snake pictures but will continue to focus my attention on flowers.
