Sharing our visit to the Maryland Orchid Society Show

On Friday, Dolores and I attended the Maryland Home and Garden Show. It was actually three shows in one complex at the Timonium Fairgrounds. The Maryland Orchid Society Show and Sale was in the first building. The second building was the home show and the third build housed the craft show. We really enjoyed taking flower photographs at the Orchid Show. All of them will be posted on my Facebook page as they are edited. Roy, you got me with the gorgeous yellow rose, my favorite!  Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Like Barbara, yellow roses are probably my favorite rose color.   The orchids look so pretty showcased against the black background.    These pictures make me want to experiment with orchids.  I'm concerned the flowers would not survive the attention of my cats though.   Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Roy, Texas Bluebonnetswell I had to learn just now how to insert a picture into my comments.  I do love Texas dearly, especially in the Spring.

Roy, I enjoy orchids, they are such interesting flowers and have a strenght about them.  I'd imagine the show was well attended!

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Roy, Just wondering with your love for flowers do you grow them too?

Hi Arleen, Yes, we do grow some flowers in our garden.  I do include pictures of them on my Kentlands photo albums.

Roy and Dolores Kelley visited Longwood Gardens on Saturday, February 12, 2011 to see the Orchid Extravaganza in the Conservatory. A wonderful world class exhibit. Canon PowerShot G11 camera. Photograph by Roy Kelley.

Roy,

These are exceptional close-ups of gorgeous looking flowers.  They really look great with the black background.  Your photography is so outstanding!!!  Thank you so much for sharing these with us, we are so fortunate to be the recipients of the beautiful photos that you take.

Good Friday morning to all.

Barbara: Yes, we have flowers in our garden and I enclude photographs of them as well as other flowers in the neighborhood in my Kentlands flowers albums.

Patricia: I enjoy all of them. I'm attracted by the colors and the lighting. I enjoy flower photographs that have a "wow" factor and hope to have a few in that category.

Linda:  It is sometimes easier to find good backgrounds at flower shows than in neighborhood gardens.

Life is better when there are flowers to photograph.

Good morning, Janice. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and a most productive weekend.

Home buyers are very active in Maryland as many wish to take advantage of the lowest interest rates since 1980. Home prices are very attractive and FHA financing still has the low 3.5% cash requirement. Many that have not owned a home in three years or more can qualify for cash assistance grants to $7,500. Lots of good incentives for those buyers that have been sitting on the fence of uncertainty.

Roy,

I agree...  the flower show have just the right setting to take beautiful pictures.  I get to enjoy all the places you visit sitting right here in my home.  Your photos are picture perfect and I can look at them and enjoy them forever!

Good morning, Linda. I'm glad that you enjoy our flower pictures. Have an outstanding weekend!

Many real estate professionals will be very busy this weekend as prospective purchasers take advantage of the very attractive home prices and the very low interest rates. Maryland first time home buyers also have the option of grants to $7,500 to assist with the cash needs of a home purchase.

Life is good when there are flowers to photograph!
