Kentlands Photowalk: Crepe Myrtle, Lagerstroemia IMG 4663

Crepe Myrtle trees are popular in Kentlands, our home community in Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878. These trees add much color for my photowalks through the neighborhood. Kentlands is a preferred area for families relocated to the Metro Area of Washington, DC.

Subhash Sharma  These bright and beautiful Crape Myrtle or Crepe Myrtle (Lagerstroemia) come from a genus of around 50 species of deciduous and evergreen trees and shrubs native to the Indian subcontinent, southeast Asia, northern Australia and parts of Oceania, cultivated in warmer climates around the world. The genus is named after the Swedish merchant Magnus von Lagerström, who supplied Carl Linnaeus with plants he collected. These flowering trees are beautifully coloured and are often planted both privately and commercially as ornamentals.

Mr. Sharma is a Facebook friend from India. He now lives in Ireland and frequently comments on my photographs.
