INTEREST RATES: Interest rates are getting higher but are still in a very attractive range. When you combine the low rates with the large selection of homes, it makes a perfect situation for prospective home buyers. Many buyers are now using FHA financing which has a low cash requirement (3.5%).
HOME INSPECTIONS: We always recommend home inspections to make sure that buyers are aware of the physical condition of the property under contract. One of the frequent issues during the winter is water leaks due to frozen pipes in vacant homes.
BUYER AGENTS FOR REO PURCHASES: Always use an exclusive buyer agent to represent your interests when you purchase a home. The time to discuss this relationship with us is at your first scheduled appointment. It is very important to have a good business relationship with your buyer agent. If you are not comfortable with an agent, you should request a release from your agency agreement and move on to another agent.
